In a state of disrepair...

I haven't been on here for over a year now. I thought it was high time I started posting again...

Zymurgy

All soberness is limited by visions
in the corridors of the mind.
As inebriation is limited by ministrations
of uncertain homeostasis,
personal capacity,
of course, sanity.

Measured out in fluid ounce
happiness contained by glass,
the abdomen... the blood...
Saturating the self
to the point of overflow
or overload.

Then comes the treacherous trembling,
the assertion of rumbustious balance
which sends the body sprawling.

With the tense twitching
of strabismus orbs in sepia
the liver shows in xanothemic health.

The traitorous twist
is a stream of rubiginous vomit,
viscous verity congealing on linoleum.

And tumescent thoughts
build into piracy of the emotive core,
instinct strained and dilute.

All else aside, I think you will find
a uselessly narrow mind
forged of fermentation and fear
which needs a drink just to clear.
Look for evidence of zymurgy
on it knees,
a gift from a recreant rambling gut.

"And the sun went down, and the stars came out far over the summer sea,
But never a moment ceased the fight of the one and the fifty-three."
