In his summer strolling from town to town
To reach far off mountain and his new home
Often a camaraderie he found,
With teamster and farmers was not alone
As moved across the ever rising ground.

He came upon a priest at a old shrine
Giving honor with incense and prayer,
And in reverence he rested a time
Till the priest’s chants where done this morning fair
Asking to join him if he did not mind

In silence of speech
The noises of the world surrounds
A far off hawk screech,
Water rolling on the ground,
Wind pushing white clouds
The tops of mountains they crowd,
Steps of two in steady beat.

Bowing as they greet
Farmers, merchants, and housewives
Pauses as they meet
To talk of and bless their lives,
Distance tired feet
He in orange robes still smiles
Unaffected by the miles.

Zhan Zhing has walked a month away from home,
Talks with reflection to the orange robed priest,
Then at the next town again walks alone,
Though a different path he still has the peace,
That inside him he in orange robe has shown

I realized today why I like these so much..

It's because I want to be him...

I awoke this morning thinking it would be nice not to worry about things...to just be happy and content...

yep...I want to be him...

he is real to me..

thank you for letting me live through him.

We do as human beings seem to make life so complicated, do we not?
I like the subtle plays going on in your schene.  Enjoyed.

I enjoy the depth and undercurrents to your writing. There is so much more than meets the eye.

Thank you, Susan,
Such words are high praise indeed
That my imagination is real to you
That my words reach to you.

Thank you, ThisDiamond,
Life is too complicated at times,
Which is why I dropped back to ancient China
Pleased you enjoy

Thank you, Earth Angel,
I do try to make the writings have some depth to them
Glad you liked these words

Thank you, Startime55,
You are kind in your praise

Thank you, passing shadows

Thank you, Brad Majors
