her hatred hissed angrily
into the air and once
given voice
the words leaped into life
and growled
into the pit of her soul
teeth barred
challenging
removal

with the snarling came
a disturbing sense of comfort
no longer silenced
her madness was now wrathfully
thriving

her solitude shuddered
as He knocked
calling her to come near
but above the growling
she did not hear

her eyes refused sleep
her stomach food
but her soul
would not accept
the morning light
with teeth barred
and growling

pacing to protect
its territory
the unrest started to wear
thin its welcome

in desperate need of the peace
and warmth that comes
only from the Son
she went to her knees
and found the way
and let Him back in

wonderful read and I'm sure he's glad to be back

thank you all so much, and I think I am more glad than He...I cannot exist without His love in my heart....don't know how I did it for so long...or why....makes no sense when you reason it out......*smile*....course who says that anger makes sense...
hugs and thank you all

lady, m,lady-friend...

you know I know this feeling of hatred, gritting teeth, scowling, and growling...

I wish it were as easy as that to get rid of all of it...I have tried, unsuccessfully

I knew this was going to be powerful when I read the title... Your first two verses are so striking... and so true... for words and feelings... especially negative ones... do seem to spiral out of our control if we ever give them life and recognition.
But taming them isn't a solitary assignment... as you've written so beautifully. *S* Well done!

anger is so wearying, I know.

you depicted that slow churning & resulting exhaustion wonderfully, jb.
