I love to write about my Love
the one I adore and love
with all my heart
The one God has sent to me
from above
About the starry nights
we look upon
from the beautiful white beaches
in the soft velvet skies
The beautiful sunsets and the sunrises
of a beautiful morn
Of our love that we truly believe
to be forevermore
Never ending, with us always together
About our life of love,
of joy
and
happiness
To write of our love together
makes me feel better
ALWAYS

But......

There are past hurts that I NEED
to face up to...to write about
Happenings from previous times
that I wish came no longer to mind
And don't
UNTIL
I read some poem or hear some song
or see some movie
THEN
the hurts, disappointments
DARK MEMORIES
of yesteryear
come to
mind
I NEED to write of those terrible things
those dark memories of
yesteryear
so that the scars will heal
never
to
be
remembered
again

NEVER
again
to
be
remembered

To
be
forgotten
FOREVER

Sometime back, one of our poets said "write outside of the box...write the you, that you never show."  I fell across one of those poems the other day, and for some reason, I thought of you.  Thought about reposting it, too...but it may be that I should just send you the link.

Yes, Ethel, sometimes we have to write of those things that are the most difficult to speak of...sometimes that's where, and when, the healing will begin.

Oh, my dear sweet Ethel Mae, I do so understand where you are coming from with this write. I for one, welcome poetry that comes from every aspect of your being and past experiences. I know that many of our readers have come to expect more up-beat poems from you and I. It sometimes shakes them up when we write otherwise and from less than sun shiny perspectives! That way we're not so predictable and we can blow off some less than angelic steam! lol

Love ya lots, u know!

Ah sweet Ethel..
as you have seen on previous posts of mine..
I have written of the hurt and pain..
but, you know....it does help!
When you are ready you will write it out.

Helen, I think writing is one of the best therapies of all time for just about anything.  I liked the way you show the contrast in this poem and your choice of font styles, as well.

Hi Ethel, a touching poem that pulled at my heartstrings.

NEVER
again
to
be
remembered

To
be
forgotten
FOREVER

I'm not sure our memories good or bad can ever be forgotten. But we can learn from the bad ones and ask God to heal us from them so that they no longer haunt us with a painful sting.

I will offer prayers for you.  Hugs for healing, Marti

If you truly love Nature, you will find
beauty everywhere.

Ethel

Life is a mix of happy and sad times...poetry speaks of them all, as you should.

Loved the honesty of this poem, and all that you write.
