The gaze on your face
Wanting someone to blame
Straining to catch morning,
For the sigh to sleep
It eats me like a disease,
Whimpering profanity
Like a CD reverberating
Her lies, bulleting
Your anger slapped my face
A hundred times
Bare branches weighed
Down with snow are those
Empty faces in the crowds where I go…
Where you sent me, you’ve forgotten who I am

Familiar roots seek to call my name
I shall keep my child eyes, simply by virtue
Where the thick pulse beats
You sold off family heirlooms
Colored me missing…
I pray winter’s floods never find you
Or defeat you….
Or that you never feel
Gnarled quaint accusations….
By columns without minds or souls
I forgave you, before your anger was born
And I always will….love you~

I have packed your toys away and pray
Someday you will sit in a luminous plain
And forgive yourself for trading spaces
Life may sometimes be a wilderness, faint with gravel
Wherein dreary days shall swallow you whole
You are from my flesh and I shall wrap that 1st lock
Of hair by my heart
Spring and summer shall come to you…like the season
Winter forsakes it’s barren grip of all that is life
It lets go…and so should you
Do not forget the golden chalice of change and purpose
For everything…even our hostilities

Sometime the greatest gift of love you can give to someone
You love,
Is to let them go.

LeeJ,

"I have packed your toys away and pray
Someday you will sit in a luminous plain
And forgive yourself for trading spaces
Life may sometimes be a wilderness, faint with gravel
Wherein dreary days shall swallow you whole
You are from my flesh and I shall wrap that 1st lock
Of hair by my heart
Spring and summer shall come to you…like the season
Winter forsakes it’s barren grip of all that is life
It lets go…and so should you
Do not forget the golden chalice of change and purpose
For everything…even our hostilities"

I had to read this several times and each time I reached this stanza, I was overwelmed with your pain, your suffering and your love.  Letting go is always hard to do.

It indeed appears as tho' you are struggling ~ and that is an uncomfortable and painful way of being. As you implied, at times all we can do is to let go and let live ~ and pray with our fingers crossed!

Healing hugs,
Linda

I like this poetry very much, but the last stanza:

“Sometime the greatest gift of love you can give to someone You love, Is to let them go.”

Easier said than done, I think….

Again you touch my heart LeeJ...
We are strongest when we let the wind have its way I think...
Well done.

Lee - you are talking to me in this one.  It is difficult, isn't it, but I'm working on it.
