These halls echo your absence
Your office now with someone else’s scent

I won’t deny missing you
I won’t deny the part of me you hold

I feel you in the movement of the river
The wind through my hair

Yet things are different
The choice was yours

Maybe you knew more than I
Seeing touch was good for only so long

The wind takes my breath
As I turn away from the spot in time

Where I loved you
And couldn’t win

What you didn’t understand
Was you touched more than just my skin

It happens...even to those with all best intentions.
A good write, Susan.  I hope you share this
with her.

Wonderful imagery; aching clarity.

Excellent!
