Balanced upon the breath of time, God created angels Beautiful creatures, hair brushed golden by sunrise They drifted along through silver mist Undaunted in the wake of iniquity below them Precious beings, crystalline in form Heaven's own daughters, fated to be the guardians of mortality Twined midst archaic hymns of loneliness, they sang Oh, to hear such sweetness 'twas truly a blessed thing! As the years slowly faded into eternity, a rift in destiny was found One single angel was left stranded on dusty soil Exquisitely lost Radiantly humble How she came to be my mother, I never knew But earth angel, she is...greatest of them all. If I were to touch you, would you bleed a velvet river, running miracles through the sodden ground? --Moi |
