A single tear fell from the eye
of she who’s destined but to cry
Brought on by love’s own hollow lies
the laughter’s gone from life, but why?

For once, aglow with hopes and dreams
she shared her thoughts and lover’s schemes
But words of love he didn’t mean
She sees the truth without love’s screen...

Through eyes of pain, which can’t deny
a broken heart, from every lie
too tired to even wonder why
One single tear is all that’s left
escapes her eye...

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life

That was a sad poem.

The last line could have been omitted maybe. If you want. lol. It just seemed to lessen the power of the poem. or maybe instead of "all that's left". let it go.."One single tear escapes her eye.."

truly,
B
