Here we are again my friend--

doesn't lucy smile too sweet?

Tempting this

to try once more

to win the game upon our feet

"Trust me" in a line of smile

the football poised at perfect tilt

knowing we can make the goal

records set for distances

frowning charlie brown intent

focused

on the uprights

then

momentum

realized ... regret

opportunity is swept

away

with just a shrug and wink.

Lucy laughs and walks away.

"What is it that you've not learned yet?"

Smug in smirk she turns to him--

"Charlie Brown? You'll never win."

I guess we're just not good at games.

"Trust me" in a line of smile
------------------------------

Ya know what baby....I'll take having "charlie brown intent" over cruel intent any day...

trust? nope...not like I used to...
so I guess that means I have indeed learned...albeit the hard way.

for me it was never about games/winning, it was about friendship... I just need to pick a better horse to root for...or is that a goat?

thanks for the smiles me girlie...love you

I love you more the further I go ...
before this existence ... you were always here inside of me.

One day I am going to hug you so hard you will know I am in N'Arlins (is that right?) A great message, and a great poem.  This is one lesson we all learned at least once isn't it?  Me ...I am always a Linus I think, but that would be a horse of a different color wouldn't it?

I think many missed the point of that cartoon because it was cleverly written with ambiguity.
This is very well done Celeste....I read Janet's reply and she's right on with the friendship philosophy and yes we do learn along the way, sometimes it just has to be the hard way.
You're a good friend to her.

Karen,
I'd play on your team any time! Lovely writing for a lovely lady by a lovely lady.

Ahhh, Karen ... you've taken two characters and given such a sweet portrayal of reality. It makes me smile to think of the innocence of trust and the journey and trials in learning our lessons. Well done.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Good oneSerenity. I was always partial to Pig Pen myself though. I like the way he dances.

Reading this, my mind went everywhere... but every path ended up at that school of hard knocks where innocence is checked at the door... It's absolutely excellent!!!

Thanks all for reading.

I appreciate your taking the time, and I'm hoping to return the favor for a bit tonight.
