Mirror Speak

I crawl today, dragging myself
in the barest of sunlight,
the day stilled by the absence of you.

The wheels turn easily now
and I just let them take me there,
the silence pitting my thoughts against you.

My needs are few, becoming fewer
as the mirror speaks to me,
and I say aloud speak for yourself.

I want to, but I don't.
I reach for but hesitate, then pull back,
knowing that the time is not right.

I trust that you will someday understand
that part of me that is more than you desire,
and my words will no longer be short lived.

Approachable, embraceable, accepting.
And hopeful I am, that this slow dance rewinds itself,
accelerating to the rhythm of you.

~A~

Very Nice ATG
