When pettiness takes over minds
where does logic go?
Where are the sureties
of knowing right from wrong?
Is it too much to ask
that sometimes
we should grow from our successes,
learn from our disasters
and try to plant our thoughts on fertile ground,
without the poison pills of mulched agendas
chipped from fear
and shredded insecurities?

Darlin', try as I might to be secure and logical, having learned so much from past experiences...

every once in the while I fail...whether that is from past scars or my own imperfections...well, who knows.

But because of this realization, I try to understand the same imperfections in others...

Excellent thoughts and wonderfully written (like always..)

At the risk of sounding like Hamlet.... that IS the real question, isn't it?

"Shredded insecurities..." Nicely phrased. And a wise reminder, for which I thank you, icebox. Bob

And with the morning would hopefully come the dawning of sufficient objectivity that we might acquire a modicum of wisdom... Just a bit of yours would be a wondrous thing...

With apologies for using your words, Icebox--I just couldn't resist the exercise (thank you, too):

Afternoon Brought Three Answers

Logic goes straight out the window
when pettiness takes over minds.
And sureties of knowing right from wrong
are nowhere left to find.
It is not too much to ask
that we should grow
from our successes,
but we also need to find
some truth from our transgresses.
We need to plant our thoughts on fertile ground
without agendas born of fear
and weed that garden regularly
of its insecurity.

It's not too much to ask! It's the reason why we are here: to learn and to grow.
May we awaken to this awareness.
Thank you for sharing your significant morning thoughts ... so very efficiently.
Love, Margherita
