carefully crafted
a poly-lined box
batting fish lashes
at green weeping new
rice paddy patterns
boast bone of bamboo
a weave
of the bend of the shoot
in display
fingers of embryo
following sway
of the fins
of a fish swimming still.

let him soft silent
in cradle of kiss
waters of tread
within a clenched bliss
tendril life ladders
through glass of portent--

the fanning of fit
as the fish strikes the glass

at war with the face of reflect.

Well, you already know that I love this one...smile

I could SEE him... you brought the image to life...

And this?...

"the fanning of fit
as the fish strikes the glass

at war with the face of reflect."

Hm... I think I know that fish...er... actually?...
sometimes, I think I AM that fish... grin?

Hugs, you...

Karen,

Just how many animals and fish do you have?

Here is my list:

2 cats (one pregnant)
2 hamsters
and a tank of various fish...

Mind you, none of these pets are mine!!!

Loved the writing..and how well you wrote it...

Two cats, two dogs, and one fish. (a Jack Dempsey, which explains why I have only one fish) *wince* nod...he ate everybody else.

and thanks all for reading--just a little meditation on the Siamese fighting fish, as most of you seem to have gathered. I was just pondering how beautiful they are, and how very much alone they remain by choice.

Reminded me of somebody I thought I knew once.
