These days of warm winds, seltzer ‘neath the cork
Hunger just to taste, finger foods without a fork
My eyes gleam full of all this on my mind
Spontaneous and gratifying craves defined
The blanket spread among both fact and fiction
Bluff bent trees discord a sheltered contradiction
All around a gathering of what I’ve waited for
Dabbling of all the colors that could ever pour
Anticipation stirs its effervescent drink
Kicking off my shoes, freely in the pink
Deviled up or sandwiched a feast by all accounts
Tempting just desserts in wicked good amounts
Then full in the content of candy apple shine
Spread out among the grass such fun by the design

Ahh yes, kicking off the shoes for the first time in Spring, touching the grass and feel Mother Earth ...
Very lovely.

This is more than a picnic...
it speaks of fairs and carnivals,
freedom and peace...
a right to live...

a blessing given to all of us...

what a great poem!

Beautiful, Kathleen. Not only did I see a pretty
picture, I almost could taste the food. LOL
