Nova

Once, while rushing to a business deal
at a hotel in San Francisco,
I glanced into one of the many windows
of Grace Cathedral.
Do you know the place,
where, at street level, a quick look
through pitch black night
will freeze the altar? Anyway,
my breath caught
at the explosion of light
from the nuptial vestments
and the couple's faces.

A once-in-a-lifetime glance,
captured, delivered...

kept.

I lived in San Francisco in the 60's, and yes, I know the place...but my eyes did not see the way yours do.  Another good poem...I'm so glad to see you posting more!

A beautiful picture. I live many miles away, in the UK, but you brought me sooo close.

Sunshine and Martie .... As always, you are much too kind, and I'm much to negligent when it comes to sharing my appreciation for the wonderful poetry each of you share. Thank you.

Swatcatpettus ...You made me smile. Thank you.

Enchantress and Passing Shadows .... Thank you, and I repeat the sentiment expressed above.

Lost Awhile ....... Ah, a Brit! Welcome, though perhaps you've been here awhile. And, thank you for taking a moment to share.

You know, I've been to the Grace Cathedral, on a field trip with my son's class when he was in 1st grade. That lovely rose leaded art glass at the top, the prayer maze rug, the tributes to the Aids Quilt in a side room. Wonderous place filled with memories of time.

Thanks for this.

Hope all is well with you.
