Twelve hours sorting
Counting and lifting freight
Almost done finally
Then more work appears
Where was everyone else

My eyes were closed
Trying just to breathe
Hands warm and strong
Melting knots in shoulders
Gone tense and raw

I wanted to step back
Into your strength
Let the world fade away
Inventory be damned
That scared me

I knew it then
Feel of dangerous waters
Trust had been granted
Blinding sun lost
To twinkling starlight

It was so much easier
Not to trust
