Seated in the churchyard,
Oh that fine sunday.
On a bench, under the subtle
pink shade of blossom.

Reading from Revelations, my
heart was suddenly safe, for
i thought about you.
calmness descended into me.

I knew then you were alright,
that you would be looked after.
My worries were swept away by love.
The love of your precious heart.

In the churchyard i was alone,
but Narcissi and yellow stars
of wildflowers surrounded me.
almost as if you were with me.

Silence was all around me then
save for the sound of the church
clock bell, sounding quarters.
You were with me, your spirit closeby.

My life could never be anything,
never be loving, just cold,
cold as the tombstones.
Salvation comes from within you.

Through the trees, i could see
far off fields of beauty.
Sunshone meadows, humming
with bees, caroled by skylarks.

wishing i could see the future,
what is and is still to come.
But i must live day by day,
most of all i must live for you.
