It was the night.  It was the dark.
It was this empty place
A feeling so misguided...will I ever see your face?
Now whispering and promising won't do me any good
I need the night.  I need the dark
For thoughts misunderstood
For in these moments all alone, I find more of myself
I find the night.  I find the dark
I find somebody else

Its nice to see it was only a "quick darkness"...because everyone deserves a little light. I enjoyed your first post and hope that you have a lovely time here at PIP.

Welcome Annie!  I hope you enjoy your stay.  Your first poem here is excellent...maybe because it reminds me of my own work.

I enjoyed your work.
