Stonehenge

Broken skies leak drizzle onto elegiac ground,
Loosening tales of a past from the scribes below.
Stone monuments of alien design manage a human sympathy
For its builders, those who have become timeless, raceless.
The Remnants have been arranged in a dru*d circle of solemnity
And I can almost hear the requiem played in a minor key,
The faces of those limestone brothers weep moss and lichen
From the last memories of their builder's final ceremonies.
Recollections flicker in the colors cast before motion pictures were birthed
And each scene could be cut into a stillframe of old lives to be cried over.
The foremen of this megalithic stonework were worshiped as heros
And they still live without age today (In the unknown).
They fought and faded as if de*th could be overcome by viol*nce ,
Now none know of their tearlit burials performed by sons.
If I listen, listen close, my mind can envision
The last event before time is sent to expunge my memory.
An elephant of a man spits ivory teeth as he wails to the gods,
They have yet to answer a man who knows disease before his time.
Coughing, laughing, tearing out his hair because pf false legends;
Crying, self-sustained dying atop a rock paralell to the ground.
The spectre of vision fades like children's music from behind a door
And I wonder what thought just captivated me from my treasure hunting.
"Oh! Some ivory sparkles among the pebbles!" I exclaim to no one,
"What lovely cufflinks these will makes for some rich man." And I too am gone.

A very powerful and interesting write, excellent. So many cruent traditions and sacrifices have been seen by the sun on those horizontal rocks!
And the answers come through the awareness of Love. We do not know our time and maybe it never seems the right time!
