Oh, this yearning!

I inhale
the silence.
It encircles me
and spreads
inside my heart.
I scan every breath
in the hope to find
traces of You.
My ribs hurt,
crackly dry branches
of a tree in flower.
I embrace
the coldness
invading me
in your absence.
I sink into myself
closing my eyes
to the light
anticipating
the night.

I recall
memories
of sunshine days,
in aching delight
I stroke the skies
fading away
into farer distance.
Then ... slowly
I begin to dance.
Ravel’s Bolero
stirs my blood.
My body folds
my hands touch the feet
and then the stars.
Willingly
the velvety grass
shapes to my every move
propitiating the moon.

I reach for You,
raising arms of light
searching the night,
forgetting about me
letting my self fade
into oblivion.
And that’s the moment
when my yearning ends,
when I become aware
that we are a single tone,
inseparably linked
to the song in its whole.
That’s when I know
I never danced alone.

I reach for You
and Love’s play
fills the scene
inviting my heart
to surrender
and to be part
of the Whole.
No, I am not alone
when the blades of grass
offer peace and I fall
into their love-shaped
embrace.
And as One we gaze
at the twinkling stars
smiling from Above.
Time now to dissolve
within each other’s arms.
Time now to join
this sweet and eternal,
yet always unique
dance of Love.

Oh, this yearning
made me reach for You ...

Margherita,
You have so beautifully expressed yearning throughout and have given us a wealth of wisdom to help us deal with it.  You'll never know how much your presence means to me.  Thank you for sharing your many gifts.

Whoops! I did it again.  I forgot to mark the box to check this into my library.  A definite keeper!  I wish I could write my heart as you do.

I especially loved the imagery within these lines.

Dear Marsha, Karilea, Sadie, Deb  and Vandana, thank you for appreciating!
Dear Marsha and Sadie thank you for telling me also that you missed me, I missed you too. I am fine thank you, only I am very busy and my working hours are so long that I am too tired in the evening to come in. Hope to find more time again to read and comment, as well as to create!
I love this place and you poets of beauty.
