My son is fourteen years of age
and he and I had disagreed.
Silences of walls despaired
had driven me to drop of knee.

So I purchased groceries--
I bought vanilla coke.
Then I spied Chef Boyardee--
enough to choke a goat.

I placed them on the counter--greet
I filled with ice a tweny-ounce
and poured the soda heavenly
watching gravely as he pounced

upon the ravioli cold
(I had purchased "over-stuffed")
I watched him eating. I grew old
anticipating belch "enough".

Sigh. Y'know it took awhile...
but then beloved, "gleeeeeeeeeeeee"
My son stood grinning back at me
with a red sauced smile.

"I love you mom!" and then we hugged
and yes, I felt an inward tug.
"Pray" I begged the gods in me
that all is healed so easily...

I had missed him behind walls
of device of mislain bricks.
"Let us love each other tame"
If Ravioli does the trick?

I suggest you all buy stock.
I ain't letting this boy go...

So enjoyed!  What is it with our children these day -- mine, too -- they always wanted that awful stuff which I only bought on occasion to please them!

ah Karen, this was a joy! My girls are 16 and 13....hard ages. I wish Ravioli and Vanilla Coke could fix everything.

ahh chef boyardee is nasty!
But if it does the trick for him then all the better!
Aren't we adolescents just wonderful?
This is great...

Oh, this is precious!
All means are good to let him know you love him and to make him realize he loves you too.
Perfect.

Cold Ravioli. Shaking my head.

And to think I used to cook red sauce for six hours from scratch...

sheesh.

Thanks for reading, with hugs.

It is the effort, the sincerity...as much as the ravioli K.  Though never hurts to have his stomach on your side huh??
I read this last night and wanted to tell ya that it was a good story to sleep on.

It is hard to understand what makes  kids enjoy some of those pre-prepared meals...

I remember those days eating Chef Boyardee...
