Unwilling to Say Good-bye

Can the intimacy between you and I transform?
Or, is that love written, as the clouds onto folds of sky.
Quietly whispering in a breeze: “We were that, you and I…”

Has the time of space sculpted room for all lost love, possibly yours and mine?
Your outline in my thoughts, a messenger of cool and warm, and rustling winds, as it rains down again, out and within - that Interlude, there only, just that moment when we were companioned as one, you and I…

As a day passes, from east to west and is done, is that me and you?
So blind to envision, but weighed and measured only in memory, there
our souls retrace that old destiny scratched from time, unwound, frozen time.
Thickened ice in patches obscures view, however that awareness is in thought.
Simple, yet complex awareness, you and I…

Failing love for reasons unknown, as the oceans were, are now, and never changing, but for the silhouettes of the shore, always enduring  doubt.  As if touching a ghost, or holding a shadow, painful impressions pressing to be devout, unwilling to hear it speak for you and I…

Where then is that invisible cord, that strand of link of you and I?
Is it that ray of light passing through clouds and sky, unseen on this rainy day?
The voice of certainty is blurred by the sound of this storm, this stormy day.
Where is that one day?  That one day of you and I…?

Is it in heavens archives, nestled in these gray clouds, clouds filled with rain?
Memories to be opened only on rainy – stormy days like today?  Is this now our day?  A day for me to remember, my portrait, of you and I?…
Is this just for me, or do you see these stormy days too?

I can not ask the passing sun to warm this day but to stay above these clouds.
And if this is fate’s way for me, then let it rain again, and again a stormy day.  For I am unwilling to be any other way or to say good-bye, or to turn away, and wish farewell to you and I…

She said: ”You look cute in the dark.”

There is so much feeling here, it causes me to speak words into the wind...tell her...
that kind of love is never over.

Enjoyed the whole of this bittersweet write of yours,
but I liked that verse especially, JL~
Be well fellow poet~
