The Sigh of Rain

I listened to the sigh of rain
Drizzling on desires Bane
Wetting down the wings of flight
By misty dew of mornings light

You could not hear the flames egress
The dying moans emit distress
Nor could you feel the smelt of burn
Bubble under melts of yearn

And from the smoke illusion rose
Gasping in my egos throws
Choking on the fain of blain
Letting go the reins of reign

And sanctity turned to splash
And raindrops tore apart the ash
And sun dispersed the rust to dust
Diluting all the grains of lust

And naught was left but rains insist
Drumming on a satirist.

Diluting all the grains of lust

that title is all I needed to love the poem.

WOW Sy! I agree with all that JM said!!
She took the words right out of my mouth...or fingertips.
Wonderful write this May Day!

Seymour~
While your rain was *sighing* ...
mine was screaming with ZAPS!! from above!

Yes, our first real 'thunder boomer' of the Florida season came down in electrified buckets~

I ran for cover ... you splashed in the ink to pen this beauty of thought~
Beautifully done, sir~

Captivating...sometimes a stretch of word-meanings to meet the rhyme, but you made me look in the dictionary.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

By misty dew of morning's light, while listening to the sigh of rain, Sir Sy the sonneteer, reigns with regal reins.
