Forever In Your Heart

Your tongue, a forked dagger,
piercing my soul to pieces,
stabbing, jabbing, cutting,
slicing, dicing, the blood
releases,

You deserve nothing,
nothing will I give,
for I will die to live,

Unchained from sorrows bed,
I drown in my tears,
alive though dead,
you play on my worst fears,

Nothing you have become,
nothing in my eyes,
with viperious tongue,
I become, poisoned with lies,

Even the demons know your name,
satan envies you,
compared to you, he feels shame,

When I give love, to become stupid,
I thought you were something,
in your shadows I became nothing,

Now the chains are broken,
eyes are cleared,
I become free, I become something,
While looking at you, you become nothing!

Open your eyes, open your mind, open your heart, let me come in and show you love.....~ARH

ARH
Very interesting write, Sylvia would like this.I feel her presence in this poem...

You say here..
"Even the demons know your name,
satan envies you,
compared to you, he feels shame,"
............................................
And she says..
*God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade:
Exit seraphim and Satan's men:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead."

And here you say..

"When I give love, to become stupid,
I thought you were something,
in your shadows I became nothing,"
.............................................
(apparently she wrestled with that same "nothing"....

*"I fancied you'd return the way you said.
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)"

Excellent tribute poem...

enjoyed

Ice thank you..you gave me goosebumps....I can honestly say with all my heart, that I have never read any of Sylvias poetry...I just rented the movie titled "SYLVIA" and was inspired to write from seeing and feeling her pain...

I was amazed when you compared the words from her poems to mine...

She was an American and Ted Hughes was from the UK...

There are more erie correlations in my life than what has just happened through my poems today...

Thanks for posting her words and telling me that..WOW! I had no idea!

I am now a fan of her work after watching the movie, I will be reading and doing reasearch on her and Ted's love...

Amazing how two poets come together so full of love and passion and burn out they way they did!

Interesting...

This is a fine poem....Sylvia was a complex person..with complex's....but people too often blame Hughes for her death..he loved her right up until his own death...he suffered a thousand times more than she did...when two people that you love ..kill themselves...and one of those also kills your daughter too how do you think he feels?
She became a feminist icon..he became the devil incarnate....but before she even met Ted..as a young girl..she had attempted suicide....and recieved electric shock treatment for it....they even say that it was a cry of help and she had not intended to REALY do it..but she was more popular dead than alive....

Ted was the bravest...never revealing what happened....because quite simply it was nobody else's business but theirs and he wanted privacy...they even took his name from her grave...after she was dead...

I don't blame Hughes for her death..but I cannot hold honor to ANY man who screws around on his wife and on top of it, it was a woman she befriended and allowed in her home, served her and her husband dinner etc....IT IS THE WORST BETRAYAL..especially for a poet. while she stays home tending to the kids and not having the time to write and create as much.

He already knew the first attempt of sucicide and how fragile her heart was..and yet he puts her through the affair(selfish if you ask me, which has nothing to do with love)...you can only push someone so far till they go over the edge...

Another incredible tribute to Sylvia Plath.

Well, she wasn't an easy person to live with, I guess!
