and everybody's swearing
up and down and
left and right
that they're in love
that they've done
their fair share
of kissing
eyelashes and fingertips
brown eyes in the morning
blue eyes at night
won't you
make up your mind?

in a room
somewhere
sometime
there is a feeling of
indifference
splinters from the floorboards
stuck inside skin
the sting is
par for the course
an inaudible whisper
floats its way to the ceiling
"you. after everything,
it was you."

he had golden hair
and silver fingers
that he couldn't stop from
channeling
the song
falls upon walls
without ears
"infinity will come for me
infinity will come..."

and everybody's swearing
up and down and
left and right
that they're in love
and at the end of the day
they are all
muttering muffled murmurs,
"romance is dead."

I found this to be quite interesting. I am unsure of its meaning. I do have a couple of ideas, but am unsure. I enjoyed reading this.
