There’s a dream she keeps,
of a name, a place that lingers on lips.
For now it’s safely caged
in the sway of suns, on rings of tears,
within the arcs of flares
where spying eyes find only glare
in return.

She waits for that one sum –
of days
when emerald lawns will roll
boundless beneath small feet,
where breaths billow from steam trains
and summer rains,
rising to hug dusty white porches,
where sanctuary is found
in mountains blue.

You have truly learned to capture tone exquisitely in your work.

Always a pleasure to read you Corinne.

You take me places in your mind, and it's always a thoughtful journey.

Lovely, just lovely.

I can never pick one favourite line when I read you Corinne, I love every single one.
The imagery is superb.

I'm sending this piece of Kentucky to my library.

Corinne...
a certain "experience" was given
to me this weekend,
that in pretend
I would own
a dream...

your very own "Kentucky"
made me
hold it.

"She waits for that one sum –

It's not a small thing to capture the essence of someplace this well.  I never lived in Kentucky but for the first 15 years of my life, spent a lot of time there and this really expressed much of the flavor I remember.  Cool write, I enjoyed...
