All That Can be Said of Love

They say that words of love are greatly overused
That matters of the heart are verbally abused
And all that can be said of love has  been defined
In sonnets scrolled by poets of another time

But what is there for poet’s fare if not for love?
What other vision has your heart been dreaming of?
For love of God, for love of child and nature’s face
Are passions that each waking moment will embrace

As for the love that scrolls itself in fleeting time
Each love is new and worthy of a poet’s rhyme
All wonders to be said of love have not been said
Nor has this day been etched in phrases of the dead

There is no other love in verse that’s so divine
As this unwritten love that’s been endowed as mine

yes, you are indeed blessed but in many more ways then you even realize...Liz...you've just left a very visible compliance for the world to live by.

Oft times I've pondered how many times people have said I love you...in growing shall we say, more mature, hehehhee I'd much rather see it then hear it.

Remarkable poem, thank you for sharing.

'Tis love that makes the world go 'round... is it not?

Well we haven't stopped spinning yet, so I suspect  you're absolutely right.  Let's keep writing of love - If only we could all do it as well as you, dear lady...

We all struggle with love, that is perhaps the largest part of the core of poetry;
you shine a bright on this search
to help us all to see.

Well done!

As I told Suthern the other day in response to that beautiful birthday poem she wrote me, /pip/Forum89/HTML/000609.html  I don't write because mystic inner forces drive me to it, I write because I love...love the act of writing, love toying with words and ideas, love making something that didn't exist before, love life and at least some of the people in it....

These words of yours reach right to the center of the reason why I write.

How I write, we could talk about...but the why of it, that's pretty much settled and you said it here exactly.
