Said the Flower to the Bee

Oh, little bee with humming wing
Please brush my floral splattering
With life’s sweet kiss, imperative
To God’s own blueprint for the spring

We give and take, we take and give
By mutual need and yearn to live.
The kiss of life you now bestow
Is powdered dust through nature’s sieve

You buzz the woodland to and fro
And bathe in fragrances that blow
Tomorrow’s seed, tomorrow’s bloom
As seasons ride their ebb and flow

For life is meant to be consumed
By earthly winds in autumn’s moon
And consecrate a future dawn
With fertile seeds for April’s womb

Oh, little bee, your kisses spawn
New life on meadow, woods and lawn
And in return, my cup will give
A nectar’s sip, that you may live

Ah how lovely Elizabeth!!
I dearly enjoyed watching the bee flit from flower to flower.
Your imagery and flow is unbeatable.

You really should publish a book of Poetry dear gal....

The bee is such a busy soul
He has no time for birth control
That is why in times like these
There are so many "son's of bees"...

Wish we had some...
we are, sad to say, bee-less...

Liz

It is good to remember the life and beauty that bees bring to the earth...thank you for doing that in this lovely poem!     I miss you!
