DENISE

She stands in shadows of herself
Behind a veil of stained glass hues
And waits the birth of inner self
Into the essence of her muse

But void of words is not her soul
Nor empty is her dire pursuit
And purposeful the living goal
Of nourishing the honored root

For faith resides beneath the dome
That shelters life’s mysterious plea
And roots are those that can atone
The womb that wrought a family

And blessed are those within her heart
Who draw their strength from her accord
And fortunate the friends whose part
Has been to reap her heart’s award

No brighter flower, no richer scent
No sweeter balm does spring release
No beauty bids the soul’s consent
Than words that could define Denise

But these few phrases cannot trace
A silhouette that well portrays
The comfort brought by her embrace
The silent love that she conveys

Thank you Denise for who you are

Liz

It is amazing the way you see within the core of treasure that she is.  She is indeed like this.

Awww, what a wonderful tribute for
our sweet Denise. Even though she's
quiet, she's always there. Thanks to
you and to her for being who she is.
Hugs to you both,
Ethel

Elizabeth, this is a wonderful tribute. If I would be asked for just one word to sum it up I might choose, excellence.

Silent? You should have been with me on I-95 this morning. One of those mornings...and the rest of the day followed suit. Ah well, all's well that ends well...I wrote a poem for your Frost assignment. Yes, I did, I actually wrote something!

Thank you for this lovely poem and for being a such gracious host. It's always a pleasure to hang out with you and my other poet friends!

And thanks for your kind words too, everyone!

Denise, my greatest disappointment of missing the gathering was not meeting you....some day!

Liz, this is superb, as always.
