* * *

We met purely by chance
It seems so very long ago
And it took very little time
For our friendship to grow

We would see each other often
Nearly every single day
You encouraged and inspired me
And helped to show the way

It's been so long since I've seen you
I've not heard from you in awhile
My life has lacked direction
I've not felt the need to smile

Now my words don't come so easy
It seems my muse has taken wing
There is sadness in my heart
No joy does this day bring

Many questions remain unanswered
Of my friendship, you have tired
I feel like I'm superfluous
And no longer required

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you
- Shawn Mullins

A touching piece and a beautiful picture to go with it.
Melancholy is sweetly shared by your heart.

Your poem is a perfit fit for me, too...

I wonder too much, sometimes

That was a very nice rhyme and I could feel the longing of a lost friendship...

I don't think so, Sue -- this poem was really good, even though I felt the sadness.

WOW!!!There is no way your friendship would not be required....I have a friend who I used to talk with each day but then life happened and we seldom see each other. I still carry all the love in my heart for them and whenever life gives me the time I take out our friendship and treasure it anew...I can see by this poem that your friend continues to inspire you today...**hugs**
