{For Icebox}

The Warmth of ICE

The season of warmth has unleashed it’s new glow
And melted divisive high drifts of white snow
The water falls sweetly by nature’s device
This is the warmth and the beauty of ICE

Grand is the desert in lavender hue
Ruby red sunsets that melt royal blue
One glance in a lifetime would surely suffice
To know of the depth and the glory of ICE

Eyes can unfold more than they can contain
With words that spill out their poetic refrain
The splendors unseen upon pages of spice
In ink that was drawn from the wellspring of ICE

Only from ice can the earth come alive
For ice was incarnate of river and tide
And all flowing waters will ride up and freeze
And in April will nurture the flowers and trees

ICE sent the tempest from dark daunting skies
The lilac and dogwood looked into his eyes
And saw one adoring of pure and precise
Atonement that’s brought from the seasons of life

ICE is not silent, though silence becomes
The sound of the phrases, the seasonal strum
Intrinsically pouring from the eyes that entice
This is the warmth and the beauty of ICE

splendid write

Can you hear my cries, can you hear my pleads, will you watch me burn...or would you bleed for me?

Ice is the rice that sews in a field
Without it of course it never would yield
A lovely write.

Such a treat to read you twice in one day.

I read you and think, "I've so much to learn," and yet somehow I don't think what you have can be learned.

You are a joy Liz Santos.

You are excellent at these character study poems Liz.  The first time I saw his photo I thought how unlike "ice" his eyes were, and you show the real man behind the name in this.

LOL, you would have a devil of a job describing me now wouldn't you?  And, no that is not a challenge!  Love ya lady.

Karen, what Liz has is not "catchy" trust me, I have seen this lady in action and she can write a sonnet while in the shower, driving, or making dinner!

Absolutely lovely

Maree.

What are you my god? You touch me like you are my god
What are you my twin? You affect me like you are my twin.

Liz, you are truly a writer of heart. You
see inside whatever or whoever you write of.
Thank you for sharing your insight with us.

Hath melted the winter's chill
