where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2004-04-26 07:02 PM

I want to hold a star,
close to me,
close to catching fire.

I want to be flammable.

I've become a target and I
do not move from my place.
I've become apathetic to the
planets being sent to me.

I do not open envelopes,
letters are too careless now.
The paper sighs deeply and I
have become ignorant to the plea,

read
            read
.

I once recieved a postcard from beyond,
and I have yet to turn it over.
I see the dust upon it and I
know exactly where it's from.
I hope with wings I could
reach this place just to say
that it no longer matters that I
have messages drifting in the wind.

They say that I belong there,
a warm welcome home on
the other side of the galaxy.

Heavy hearted, I
sat on Saturn's rings,
and floated 'round and 'round
I will pull the Earth's strings.

read
                   read

I will not
understand, nearly never,
why I can't bring myself
to read a simple letter..

Perhaps I fear
it is from you..

I want
to
hold a star and
burn
slowly or
quickly like thin paper
with words that mean nothing \
to me.

Eerily, I really think I understand this, tho I'd rather not define it, or readily admit to it.

I could not take
the rest of your poem
and place it here...

because I hope

...with wings...

Honey-child ... this is one of the best pieces of writing I have ever read . . . from anybody.

The words, the flow, the Read. Makes no difference what it means to me, you, or anyone else because it's an open window of purity inviting all to partake.

My admiration.

Meghan~

'The paper sighs deeply'

Though I greatly enjoyed the all of it ...
the above quote twisted my thoughts, right along with my remembering heart~

I know those paper sighs~
This is wonderfully poignant to me~
Thank you~

As I read the lines over and over...drawn in closer still...I can almost feel the burn from the star you want, the words from a postcard just beyond vision but in the line of sight...

Wow.

I would rather my words fall upon deaf ears than a closed mind...

One word- Incredible.

This is so unique, so moving...I felt it, somewhere deep within.

Sometimes, I think many of us belong there!  Understood and felt!  Really, really wonderful writing, Kaoru!

Indeed, absolutely - utterly beautiful. I cannot say anything more without having your work float away in the breeze.

your words just capitivated the reader (well at least me i wont speak for everyone else)

Can you hear my cries, can you hear my pleads, will you watch me burn...or would you bleed for me?
