A spring....
Tugged lazily toward the waiting sea,
where foam shall dash the purity
and waves rock the calm of it.

A path...
Wandering endlessly toward that
which is not yet seen, as wanderers
wonder of the horizon’s gift.

A sky
painted blue from horizon’s edge,
daubed with white, might one be
a reaching hand?  Or, perhaps
a finger’s touch as Heaven awaits
the mortal soul, as Heaven awaits
the last gasp....

Standing...
A zephyr ruffles, a mockingbird cries.
An eagle soars the boundless air, his
freedom loftily flies...

Oh bird above the chasm’s edge,
above the grassy plain, above the
narrow winding ledge, above the
morning’s rain.

Come to the arm of trusted friend,
of he who treasures thee.
Where mountains catch the swirl
of winds...and springs wind to
the sea.
