Towards a Journey's End

Lend me your sleep,
allow me the dreams that evade
and would then mellow a mind
that is in hell before its time.

Let me feel that smile again
that can harvest
and capture the tomorrows
that understand the songs of today
and reflect the beauty
that once was.

Cycles rise and fall
and with each I am found lost,
between here nor there, waiting
along with her, alone and tormented
sharing tears, thoughts being censored
becoming words of need, and truth
staring us in the face.

Lend me your sleep,
let my breathing ease
into a darkness of calm,
brushing away the tenseness
of the deafening of time,
each morning another
towards this journey's end.

M

Another melcancholy but beautifully expressed piece of writing Maureen.......You capture those blues so very well.....
Love these lines
"brushing away the tenseness
of the deafening of time,
each morning another
towards this journey's end"

Thank you Eric, staring death in the face isn't easy...and losing sleep over it makes it even more tiresome.

Dear Maureen, you are such a sensitive witness of this sad sad journey.
You touch my heart.
May love embrace you both in comfort.

Maureen, it's only been a week today since the funeral of Rita's (Carol) sister. She is having a really hard time. She went through the same feelings when her sister was so sick. She would understand exactly what you're going through. I wish that I knew the right words to say to both of you......

Such an ache to this Maureen.
Holding you and your sister close in thought and prayer.
Heart hugs

To have lived the dream of a love so true...
is to have seen a glimpse of heaven.

Maureen, how well I understand.  Your writing just seems to become more outstanding every time you pick up your pen.   ....jo
