where the wild flowers grow

I can no longer
hold you like I once did..

I can no longer bear the pain that you inflict.

Or perhaps I cannot love at all.

I tried to wind the clock
back,
time is such a waste..
once we touched I knew this would not be
forever but
it would be an eternity before I could
mend myself to you.

You're wounded hands
feel over my scars, but
do not recognize them..
and oh, how I wish
they could,

but you can no longer
heal me like you once did..

This skin is pale and cold,
my words are fruitless.

You have no idea how much I wish I had written this..you have written what I've wanted to say for a long time but never could; not as perfectly as you have.

Totally awesome Meg.

My breathing got slower and slower as I read down the page ~ until it stopped!

You may believe your "words are fruitless", but the written ones have the power to control my breathing!

Settling into an achy resignation?

Or perhaps, struggling yourself upright once more.

Nicely written.
