In the space between moments

Maddening
the spiral of circlets
splattered on the steaming pavement
a rain of confusion maybe
or misunderstanding at least

She steps gingerly
around the oil-glistened puddles
between the snaking cracks
of the sidewalk and
her life

Don’t stumble…don’t fall
Resist him, resist it all

Quickly she moves
leaving the harsh edges of today
to memory
better leave that smile there, too
it fades in soft shadow showers
Gone now, it seems.

But as she wakes
under the curl of warming sun
resolution evolves into
the myth of a rainy night.

Hey all, I'm alive.  Just swamped.  College sucks sometimes..
