Left, Right, Straight Ahead or Turn Around

Ahead on the darkened highway is a muddy stop sign.
To the left a sign reading
Washed Out Bridge.
Also on the left a sign saying
Tomkin’s Ferry.
To the right the road is clear, but taking you miles out of your way.
The road straight ahead with a sign reading
Road Blocked Avalanche.
If you turn around you will be right back where you started.
Which road will you choose?
The road on the left leads you to an unstable looking ferry.
An old man standing guard.
You look at the roaring waters and swirling whirlpools.
The ferry pulling, tugging at the ropes wanting to be free, not knowing the terrible
catastrophe that awaits.
Is this not like life?
When hardships and pain knock upon your door?
Now the road to the right has many winding roads.
It takes you into the mountains, across mended bridges and it will takes several hours to
get to your destination.
You sign with exasperation.
You want to get to your destination faster, you have no patience.
You wonder should I take that rickety old bridge?
It will save time; I’m in a hurry.
Is this not like life?
You are always in a hurry.
Maybe taking a path that is dangerous, hazardous to your health, closing your eyes to the
warning signs.
The road straight ahead, an avalanche, you cannot get to the other side for days.
You go down that road anyway just to make sure that the sign is not wrong.
Is this not like life?
How many times have you come upon a dead-end?
But still you try
It has the feeling of butting your head against a brick wall and getting nowhere.
You stand in frustration and curse the fates that be.
Why me you cry, why me?
As you travel back to that old muddy stop sign
You sit and ponder-
What shall I do?
You look in all directions and think if I turn around I’ll be back right where I started.
What road will you take?
Left, right, straight ahead
or
Turn Back Around.

Love Bon-Bon

Food for thought.  Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!  I think I’d start all over again.
