Thunderclouds seal the place of drive by shootings
It is forgiven…like magic from a fortune kit
In drifts of tide from a cyclopean sea
With eyes pouring response upon me
My wounds became freedom, charm, the martyr
Assault weapons take me hostage
Sweet surrender became the bottom of my glass

Up some green spiral staircase, my assailants drug me
I wasn’t prepared, my black belt was lost
White flag waving from past nothings
Self-importance became an experimental science

Enterprise in the service of the spiritual
Sponsors lined workshops making ready Race for the Cure
Drama submissions became internal, to anyone who would contribute
Like a woman telling her story to anyone who would listen

A reminder of some post hypnotic syndrome
Granting 3 wishes & 1 scratch off lottery ticket
Anything flew, even winter’s whitewashed fence
Degree angles lit every bar-b-q grill in the US

I watched looking through the eyes of film

To me, 5th Avenue lost character
I wanted to be someplace else
Connecting dots to the membranes of NASU
Placing white roses on the graves of soldiers
Shouting tears, shredding sex changes & boa holds
Feeding the minds of art, lost behind cages

Ballroom dancing held up snug in BBC
Purchasing a Jack LaLane juicer
Carrots will never taste the same
Poultry’s life span lives on a conveyor belt
Bland, disfigured, loosing the will to scratch

But…the waiting larva takes an elevator to some solar avenue
Swirling around earth, forming shadows….good wise ones
Pondering some mysterious heist…opening bared windows
Sending physic messages like a Christmas surprise

All of a sudden, my life seemed amazingly small
Like an insect that mates then dies…but life carries’s on
Meteor showers wearing sunglasses
From the glare of definite giggles
All was predestined, erasing all typos
Melting faces wear smiles and the 7th sign
Drifting on some long forgotten knowledge
Where dreams stand up for what they believe
And everyone owns one

I saved that scratch off lottery ticket
And threw it to the wind
For who ever might see the significance in it.
Life awakens with low carbs
Vitamin C becomes a pregnant mother
Andrew Lloyd Weber becomes the great choreographer
Of Armageddon
As a reminder that a new world is coming
And I’m given a key to the sea
Where Atlantis awaits on ice
With powers way beyond the imagination
Candlelight becomes our night queen
Aura emanating just one trickle of hope
And life, life, will never again be as we know it
There’s a spirit urging us, shaking us
Whispering “Wake Up”

The last line is so true: “There’s a spirit urging us Whispering Wake Up.”
But I think to some that spirit should be shouting “Wake Up.”
Love this write.  You are a true artist Lee J.  Beautiful write!

You have captured the dream-like images in beautiful stanzas, but I particularly liked this one...

"All of a sudden, my life seemed amazingly small
Like an insect that mates then dies…but life carries’s on
Meteor showers wearing sunglasses
From the glare of definite giggles
All was predestined, erasing all typos
Melting faces wear smiles and the 7th sign
Drifting on some long forgotten knowledge
Where dreams stand up for what they believe
And everyone owns one"

nicely done...

What a blending,  like a concoction of a
hundred items blended in a blender,  swirling....

Such are dreams,  such a mixture of so many
things...

Great imagery here LeeJ...

LeeJ -- I think many are waking up, then we go to sleep again -- kind of half sleep now.  I pray I'm worthy of the new world when it arrives.  One of your best writes, I think, by the way.
