standing on a shadow's lace

Beautiful Pain

really you do not
know me that well
I have learned
to face a lot
and go on
no matter what
it is just
more intricate lace
delicately stitched to
this beautiful pain
a pattern woven to
fill the holes in
the webs of my life
a waxen thread skipping
to form tighter cloth
joined to me completely
it interlaces happy times
and bitter losses
maybe my emotions
are the ones that
are truly confused
but I don’t cry
like I use to
it is not that
all the edges
have become undone
I have just learned
to accept the things
that come and go

Bravo Lady...it is a fine soul who has learned patience and acceptance...which is one of those silent secrets to happiness...acceptence of a powerful force unknown to us...perhaps destiny...and the individual journey of each and every one of us, to get to where we're going.

Lovely words, romance is in the humble of all things!

Helen, this is so true.....the happy times make the
bitter losses so much easier to bear. I love the
way you wrote this. It seemed that it was written
on a crocheted doily to me. So pretty.
Hugs......hope the academy is going well
