Not a poem, or my typical write...simply feelings expressed

We were dew on sun clouds painting friends
Surrounding sci-fi adventures
Like fireflies in the warmth of twilight
Not one tomorrow was disappointing…then

Global warming was our best friend
Like the roof top where we strung cable access
Together
Push carting points of comics…early encounters
Letting their story gradually reveal them
Them, the action movies of our romance
Current events were just beginning, with Smoky Robinson

Our community provided subscriptions for United Way
Going door to door, reading the novels of people in need
Our species got to hang out at Dairy Queen
McDonalds was just rising…tomorrow knew
Shopping on Broadway was a 60 foot centerfold
We viewed profiles of the blond bombshell and giggled

You were a classical exhibit at Guggenheim
We wore shoes by Carlos Santana
And I…I had nothing in common with Feminists
I loved it so when you opened the door of your GTO
For me, always for me, extending your young hands
I was your Damsel in Distress
Learning how branches grew, then…..

Remember our Junior Prom? You were so attentive!
Loaning me your class ring…like it was the inaugural ball
We’d watch that lava lamp, walking down the canal
You loved antiques & collectibles, an illness kept you from
Going to war…needles 3 x a day…and always
Do you know how…?
You turned my life around, like a military helicopter
Along with photographs of tomorrow

There were no snobs in our town…then
Only tender embraces
Evaluations helped guide our parents
Car chase movies was the trend, led by candle glows
You were the one thing I could always count on
“Beyond the wall was our seminar” you used to say
Offering hope from our troubled world…then
We had no problems…

Soft music and a warm kiss…life was laughing out loud
When you asked for my hand in marriage
We read tea leaves, desk top images and horoscopes
Chanting something about…but can we love and embrace
And admire tomorrow, being so lovable, probably!

You loved me and still do, as I you
We have a common bond…a sacred chart, an intimate friendship
Which will and has already carried our smiles up a hill
We broke each others hearts, forgave and forgave
Watching for the signs…fireworks on the 4th of July
Now my soul, my every being cries for you
My heart is afraid to ask itself to even consider your tomorrow

You kissed softly my life…singing a song of tomorrow
Bringing us courage…keeping our heads held high
I’ll never close the door behind us or let go
We may miss the things we had, but we’re older and wiser
Different lives, different times…

The better kind of man you are, takes blessings to carry you
We were The Love Story with a web site address
Changing habits staying up late, catching Mars and Venus
Inspiring heartfelt stories we could tell
Oh the insights on our unabridged cassettes
Growing in little one act plays
Tossing away any circumstances

Birth stories were and always will be our labor of Love
With great visibility, Please save me a seat in your next life encounter
Can someone be so kind as to give me advice?
What do I say to our son?
What do I tell him?
For tomorrow is coming…will courage allow Jesus to work in
His life…to carry on Tomorrow?
God love you my friend…I still see your youthful face
Your blond hair, compassion, your vulnerability
But most of all, your truth, your sincerity, is the vigulance that
Guided me…your truth, guided our trespasses
And I’ll love your spirit for that…forever!
I love you like a brother, father, sister, mother!
Life really is short, and somehow, I have always felt, people should know, not guess, how you feel, and why you acted so, or felt as you did….

wonderfully expressed!

The sound of silence calls,
I hear your voice and suddenly
I'm falling, lost in a dream
The echo of our souls meet

"We were dew on sun clouds painting friends"

Lee from this beautiful opening line
to all the memories of the treasures through years I remember..
you m'friend have penned a masterpiece!

Such a treat this was to read..you took me back in time...
and I wanted to stay there and for this piece never to end.

Straight into my library it goes!
~Hugs & Soft Smiles, Nancy~

To have lived the dream of a love so true...
is to have seen a glimpse of heaven.
