I'm a flitting hummingbird
with wings speeding eighty beats per sec.
And you?
You, you are my days rest,
my nest.

I'm a restless eagle blessed with
annual growth of stick built dwell;
Now nine feet wide, twelve feet deep
you're the protective nest
where I securely sleep.

I'm the silly goose who
always finds herself in trouble.
You are my tough fluffed down,
a comforter among lifes muddle.
You are my forever nest.

              ~Sadie~

~dedicated to my wonderful husband and best friend~

Sadie, this is just delightful!

Truly tender and loving expressions.

Your husband is a lucky man to have such a fine poetess ... in the nest.

muted,
Thank you for your sweet comments, muted.
I always enjoy reading what you say.

Professor,
Thank you for you kind words, P.G.   This tribute is long overdue.  You're right; he deserves more than I could ever pen (or pencil, or crayon for that matter!).
        Sadelite

Ethel,
Thank you for your words.  Cute as a button is the closest I get to romance; I'm envious of those who can describe what they feel.  (I can only use simple metaphors.  I wish I could write with more closeness to the subject like you.)  Take care, and thanks again for your sweet response.
           Sadelite

Grover,
I'm glad you liked it.  It is always nice to hear from you and read yours.  Are you posting as frequently as you used to?  I've not been using the computer as much lately and may have missed yours.  Take care.
Thank you for your response.
              Sadelite

Margherita,
Thank you for your cheerful thoughts.  Nah,  my husband is not all that lucky-I'm a pain at times!  I'm the lucky one.  Thank you, Sweet One.
            Sadelite

Hope,
As much time I spend on the internet, I felt I ought to surprise him for putting up with me.  He's one of a kind. Hope, I be he loved your poem about snoring!  Take care,
         Sadelite

Ah how nice of you to dedicate this to your hubby!
Out of the three above..I think I'm a silly goose..
at least my wiz would say so.
Hugs~

BluesSerenade,
Thank you for your sweet comment.  I'm glad to share some of the happiness and the cozy.  Again, thanx for your response.  This  ditty is very special to me--it's as close to romantic as I have the ability to write!

LeeJ.
So kind of you to read and comment.  You're right-they do remind me of rabbits now that you mention it!  Glad you enjoyed!
             Sadelite

Enchantress,
Cute response.  I'm the silly goose too, but I love to explore like the eagle, and am as hyper as the hummingbird.  It'd be hard to decide which I'm most like!  Thanks for stopping by, Enchantress.

Let me stop it here... this was completely original, clever and completely understandable... the rest of poem followed suit. A beautiful tribute to your husband.

It is unique and wonderful to see the simple things celebrated, as love is emulated.
Enjoyed this Sadie.
