state of confusion

The river is in a rush; it spills over banks
without a care for our sliding feet.
See how it climbs trees? It ferries them away
inside a brown belly to thrust trunks into the ocean.

Do you remember when this was a brook?
It was quieter then. There was time to dip our toes
in thought. I was young and raced past;
the future was waiting for me. Your face was a blur
of concern.

We are as we were then, on opposite banks,
except I am the voice of caution. I will worry these hands
in mud to convince myself words somehow heal.

We are both sliding beneath the surface.
I can’t change the currents, but I will hold on
as long as your fingers
clasp mine.

I wish I could sit
beside you
listen to you
learn from you.

Ah, Karilea, you are too kind to me! But thank you for being so, you are an angel! I'm sure that we could learn much from each other!

I don't think she's kind at all...I think she spoke truthfully, from the heart, words I wish I had used because I feel the same as her...this was philosophy, zen, momma, lessons learned and praticed - and something for us all.

Kudos...

Yes I wish what Karilea wished for.

Really incredible writing Corinne.
