One count of reliance
To dilate the moon’s eye
Owns lashes of midnight blue

Orion pierces the lunar lids
Lids of shadow and cloudy palls
Lids of sandman rainfalls

Chances are the farmhand recalls
Outstretching his son to the heavens
He said, “Son, let the moon’s eye
Be your anchor
Let it show the way to higher dreams true.”

If one thing is learned on this journey
If one thing remains right
The moon’s eye is always there
As that beacon of time and beacon of care
A beacon for the large, a beacon for small
A vision for one, a vision for all
