A nor-easter is up;
Crashing great swells
Against rock and reef,
Yet the captain must stay
His place at the wheel
Invisible, alone
With the taunts of his fear,
Guiding the ship
Of his spirit and soul,
Through the turbulent mood of the sea.
*
Storm winds bay in sails,
Close behind, above, below
Wails and whips the sea to froth,
Though note the glint of hope
On top, on main and wake.
*
What frosts the clouds is the captains goal,
For where sun shines, there is peace and calm;
Safe harbor for the spirit, and the soul.

What a wonderful writing depicting this beautiful painting by two wonderful artists. You have painted with your words what his brush has painted with each stroke. Magnificent.

Excellent imagery.

Michael is going to love this.

I'm keeping it

You're all much too kind.  Thank you in the most sincere way.  Ice, thank you as well.  You're very kind.

the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

I am touched by the beauty of your write, dear Ford. While the heart like the ship can experience tremendous storms, the soul is always calm as it is always anchored in the safe harbour of God's love.
Michael Auguste good to see you here! Your painting is a powerful expression of your innermost emotions. I love it. You sail above stormy waters, but you know that calmness will reign again.
Love to both. Margherita
