Knotted Heart

If you were indeed not that one, that I should love,
I would nonetheless, my heart floating as light as the air above.
Your words speak and move about, in and around the wind,
to me as a stained glass window, colored lights shimmering in.

To know, and not to hold or taste, but to see so deep within,
I embrace my emotions quietly, and silently, knowing that truth’s trend.
Unshared to any, apart from me, I will wrap it and twist it tight,
showing no one my secrete, to pretend, within my own valorous plight,

So…
I will pay that bitter price, cue my words carefully, and oh so smart
and no one shall discern, no one, except my knotted heart.

The noble sacrifice...let so gently fall these eyes.  Such gentle words.

Love yourself as you would another, and the knot will then loosen around your loving heart.

Very sad, I wished no one had to keep secrets like this, not fair!

But as always your writes are like reading a theatrical play...very much enjoyed.

oh gosh......i know how it feels to hide-love yourself and the rest will follow.  As a good friend once told me.  "Follow your passion and the universe will provide."

Great Write.

So sad.  It is hard, is it not, to live with such secrets.  Better to untie the knot and lasso some happiness with all that extra rope.

You expressed this ancient hurt of secret love so well.

And who can say "tis better to have loved"...
one who has never loved so deep?
And who can say " if you love something set it free"...
one who has never had to open their hands?
And who can say "time heals all"...
one who never felt the cut?
You have written this beautifully JL...

JL, this was a fabulous poem -- it flowed so well and the interior rhyming caught my ears!
