Bite The Hand That Feeds

everyday we give another bite
from our loaf
to the oaf who is lazy-- takes his car
to go next door, makes his wife
walk to work, brags about things
he says he owns--
while his woman slaves for things
they'll never own.

our taxes don't go to feed the poor--
not when he's drinkin' scotch in Muskogee
not when he's collectin' monthly pogy
not when he's smokin' a rich man's stogy.

we all live each new dawn
posted on the same 24 hour billboard...

but that's where similarities end.

Just plain inspired writing, Wayne. Nothing in my personal life at all.

It bites when a piece of our communal loaf goes to a lazy oaf!

Felt your frustration in handouts being given so freely to the undeserving!

I hear your voice and suddenly
I'm falling, lost in a dream
The echo of our souls meet
