If I lend thee rose colored glasses That it could change the view Or pledge within an honest feel That a heart would grow anew If I scatter in the winds that blow Perchance more fair to rise Distrusting what just has to be That heart shrinks one full size If I kept my sacred secrets Then the riches would be mine And pretend I feel nothing Tell you everything is fine If I wrap this up as nothing More at ease that you would say Then the trust that is between us Like the tide to wash away Yet all I am is ocean Not the mirror or the glass Not a mystic spell or potion That can let this love just pass Born to be the waterfall Letting all the torrents spill Having no one take your proper place While you take your stand in chill Or bathe me in au fait moon Harbored in the waves that come If I leave to thee the keys to dreams Yet the door keeps from the sun Copyright Kkh 4/14/04 |

Beautiful imagery, especially liked the analogies to the ocean and the waterfall. Susan |
