Whispered Sorrow

I discovered your shy smile, and a penetrating look in your eyes.
Your aroma of sweetness never failing to catch thoughts I disguise.

Mere mention of your name pulls at my heart in arguments to not abstain.
But a separation of days and miles brings a languid state of mind:

What rhythm between a pair of lives could there be, what silence, what deafening music, what passion, what escape, what captivity to the deed of love?

To know, is that frequency too high to hear, a touch to grapple mischievously.

To not know, and not obtain, is transfixed in my mind’s fear of a catatonic life of delirious mad dreams…

Dreams of words never said, words not carried on an amulet of gold or silver.

Or, dreams of thistle and brier; dying roots and grape vines slashed into slivers.
Shreds of life unknown, or even tried…

An emptied stage: no curtain to close, no lights to silence,
the audience blind and deaf, yet truly benevolent…

The cause they do master in knowing…
Paying exaggerated prices for the showing

To here that fool singing, that song of fools:
Whispered Sorrow…

at least in whispering the anguish does escape.....small pieces at a time.

i feel the sadness and frustration in this....

To have lived the dream of a love so true...

I think, dreams are words, in their own language, and cannot be stopped....they are and forever will be carried on an amulet of gold and silver right from your heart.

Lovely write, dear friend...smiles and hugs...Lee J.
