A simple plan against you

to avoid skin

and graceful eyes

that could catch any pupil

and open it wide

for

one

last

look.

And so

simple

becomes

complicated,

with the gentle way

you touch my bones

bringing surrender in marrow,

by how you softened

and did not break them.

You held my spine

with caress

and I held back

a sigh.
