standing on a shadow's lace

Distance

every morning
looking in the mirror
I recognize
the face I see
who I
do not recognize
is you
the one who
talks to me
of friendship
and what it is
and could be
my buddy
who wants
my time
yet, tells me
to wait
this is just
too tangled
and you are
wrapped up in
something you
can not let go of
and really
the only thing
between us
is distance

"It's ok, you will be alright, it will just take some time." unknown

You never disappoint. Never. I like that about you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

kryponite, as usual.

that was one hell of a closing. it felt strange reading this, it was like eavesdropping on someone "breaking up" with a friend - if that makes sense.

I especially like the double meaning at the end-- one can be very close in distance to another, yet still be very distanced. Another exceptional write!
