It's a retreat, a halfway house a dorm for strays that belabor the inevitable loss, the castoffs to the earth beneath woven threads, in the world below, tossed with moss, broken glass cigarette butts, destinies stalled in the here and now looking up, as colors toss sewn back on skies from trees that lean on heaven's door, rarely glanced upon the manna that lurks below, the network intertwined where pasts and futures lay side by side, eternally bound, where the saintly trees that sweep upon celestial gates come to weep and bow, dipping their feet, stuck in mud swimming in winter's thaw standing still for now, dipping into the ugliness reaping the beautiful gift of the bowels of the earth that echo below |
